چکیده
Background:
Citrobacter freundii is an infrequent hospital acquired pathogen to cause different types of disease in clinical settings. This associated with wide range infections causing unpredictably high mortality rate 30-60%. Separation this health care settings escalating and multidrug resistant strains are emerging. Therefore, study aimed detect antimicrobial resistance pattern virulence genes among the isolated C. freundii.
 Methods:
A total 500 samples (urine, stool, wound swab & pus, blood endotracheal aspirates sputum) from patients clinically suspected irrespective age sex were used study. Disc diffusion method was susceptibility antibiotics; colistin, tigecycline fosfomycin identified by minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) done potential genes.
 Results:
 Among 27 freundii, majority amoxiclav (92.59%), trimethoprim-sulfomethoxazole (88.89%), cefotaxime ceftazidime (85.19%) followed ceftriaxone (81.48%), cefepime ciprofloxacin (77.78%). MIC showed least colistin (29.63%), (11.11%) (7.41%). PCR positive for via B gene (48.15%) lt-A (25.93%). hly A, lt, lt-h negative results.
 Conclusion:
Antibiotic found quite worrisome as widespread seen bacteria human infection. Also, play important role

Background and purpose: Citrobacter freundii causes variety of infections, including respiratory tract infection, wound infection, meningitis, and urinary tract infection. The bacterium is considered as one of the main concerns in healthcare settings due to high antibiotic resistance patterns. The current research aimed at studying the prevalence of C. freundii strains in burned patients and...
متن کاملAntimicrobial resistance pattern of citrobacter species isolated from food outbreaks
Background: Foodborne diseases and resistance to antimicrobial agents are two of the world's most widespread global issues. Also, the excessive use of antibiotics has led to the resistance of bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family to antibiotics, especially in carbapenems. Citrobacter is an opportunistic bacterium that is resistant to antibiotics in the emerging bacteria and has ...

Urinary tract infection (UTI) continues to be the commonest nosocomial infection according for approximately 40% of all hospital acquired infections and it is one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality [1, 2]. UTIs caused by Citrobacter species have been described in 5 to 12% of bacterial urine isolates in adults [3]. The genus Citrobacter is a distinct group of aerobic Gram-ne...
